Rocket and his sister were dropped off at the animal shelter in Birdsboro, PA in 2008. When Julie Smith-Bear (from the Malinois rescue) arrived, Rocket was still there but his sister had been adopted. Julie tried like crazy to find a foster home for him on the drive home but no luck. After spending the first five nights sleeping on the office floor with Rocket, Julie could not bear to part with sweet Rocket.

Julie discovered the Keystone Dock Dogs Club and her and Rocket’s extreme interest in the sport! Rocket started competing in March of 2009 and earned his regional Elite title at the Lily Pons event. At the National event in Bel Air, MD in 2009 Rocket earned his National Masters title. Rocket became a champion dock dog at the National level and is now retired. Rocket was dumped at the shelter…thrown away like garbage. With the right person and a chance to fly, Rocket became a champion dock dog. We love you Rocket!
